Do you like Air France, too?
I can sometimes be a little obsessive about samples...I searched and searched Google but no one was talking about where the sample ('Sorta like a dream, isn't it? No, better.') from the song "Collapsing at Your Doorstep" (video above) is from. I actually was thinking it was from an old movie with Margaret O'Brien...it just felt like I'd heard it before. But as it turns out, I certainly have not heard it before, haha. It was just one of those things that sounds familiar.

After stealthy research (and thanks to people who apparently are obsessed with this show), I have found the sample!! (fast forward to about 6:50 min)

hahah there it is. As far as I know, no one else has discovered this? Even the music is sampled. Also, there is an episode called No Way Down, which is the name of the album, and also another track (that probably samples from that episode?). I'd never even heard of this insane Beauty and the Beast show. It's from 1987 and had THREE seasons! Did any of you watch it?

  5. Oh my gosh, I do remember this show! I recall thinking it was unique at the time. I'm the same way about samples - though I've never had the good fortune of a sample search leading me down such an unexpected rabbit hole!

  6. I liked it because it was a little bit spooky! Now I would probably think it was totally cheesy, but he lived underground and it was creepy! Also I was 9 or something. The 80s were so corny!

  7. I knew of this show but never watched it :) Many people were totally involved with this show!
The main actress was married to the director guy who was obsessed with making the Titanic movie.

Caitlin, you know the two best things about the 80's:)
